Understand judge placement, calls and priority emphasis of items in the show ring. -- 3:30-4:30 PM - Show Ring - Senior Judge Wade Gease
Have some fun with Senior Judge Wade Gease as he explains the practice of how judges reason out the differences between Alpacas in the show. Get some practice in yourself with a few small classes in this ring side program.
Presentation on the Barberpole Vaccination Project we did last year. Learn about Alpaca Nutrition -- Afternoon - Tom Rohanna, Nutrena - Cargill.
Tom will present the research that went into the development of Country Feeds Alpaca Life Stages 14/5 and why that feed has an excellent impact on the health of your alpacas.
How to skirt and prepare fleeces for show or processing. -- Afternoon - Char Johnson, Fleeces-to-Go
Exhibitors are invited to bring their own fleeces to the show to have Char use to teach them how to skirt fleece. Char will demonstrate how to noodle fleeces for show. She will also accept fleeces to prep for show. After prep and skirting you can either take them to ANF or Theresa Jewell there at the show for processing or take them home to enter in the spring shows. We would appreciate a donation of $40 per fleece to the Buckeye Large Animal Scholarship Fund at OSU College of Veterinary Medicine for fleece prepping. Donations can be paid at the show by Credit Card, Check or Cash.
